"Circus" avaliable for streaming on Imeem

From MTV.com

Britney Spears' Circus Now Available For Streaming On Imeem By Gil Kaufman
Since being posted on Monday, the 13-track album has already drawn nearly 80,000 views on the free Web site.

Remember when Britney Spears released Blackout and didn't really promote it very much, so the whole thing kind of seemed like a big, open secret? Well, with her personal life falling back into order, Spears is going full-throttle this time with promotion of Circus.

Less than a week after the album leaked online, Spears has teamed with imeem.com to stream the entire CD online in advance of its December 2 release date. At press time, the site — which has also been streaming the new albums from Kanye West, Guns N' Roses, Linkin Park and the Killers — has already drawn nearly 80,000 views on the Spears page since posting Circus on Monday morning.

And of course, Spears' always vocal fans have weighed in on what they think of the 13-track album, leaving comments in the imeem page such as, "Go Brit! Show them what u got," "She's back," "Oh wow I so love it," and "Oh my god she's back. Yehey I love Britney."

The streaming is part of a blitz of Brit-related events being unrolled to support the album, including a contest next Monday in Times Square, in which the biggest Britney fan will get a chance to see the singer's birthday performance on "Good Morning America" on December 2, and this Sunday's documentary on MTV, "Britney Spears: For the Record."

Spears is on the cover of the upcoming issue of Rolling Stone and is on her way to Europe, where she'll appear on the French show "Star Academy," then do time on "American Idol" judge Simon Cowell's British show "X Factor" before heading back to the U.S. She is also expected to tour in support of the album in 2009.

UK Release Date Brought Forward?

Has the UK release date of "Circus" been brought forward? The UK iTunes page for "Circus" has changed from 1st December 2008 release to 30th November 2008.

"Mmm Papi"...NOT for Adnan

EDITED AND UPDATED 20-Nov-2008

According to sources close to Britney, the Circus Princess wrote a track for former Pap Sleaze Adnan Ghalib on her upcoming album as a "gift to him." Nicole Morier of the band Electrocute - who helped BritBrit pen the song Mmm Papi - admits to Us Weekly that the song is "about someone. I'm sure you can guess."

We guess that with lyrics like - "You love it when I'm freaking out / Things get rough and there's no doubt / You will always be there for me" - it does seem a little obvious.

Thanks to PerezHilton.com

UPDATED 20-Nov-2008
Nicole Morier, who co-wrote "Mmm Papi" with Britney, tells PerezHilton.com the song is not about Mr. Milky Bowl of Soup saying:
quote:

"I never said that to the US Weekly! The song is definitely not about Adnan and in the whole time I worked with her last spring and summer I never once saw that guy. We strictly wrote the song for fun. the Mmm Papi part came out of Mmm Papa Luv U and I came up with it because the track was a fun up beat track and we wanted to do something crazy like mmmpapamowow. The mmm papi part came later as rhythmic idea and it was also more inspired by Hey Mami from the group Fannypack and is our ode to all the Latino hotties in the world such as yourself! Please be kind to Britney and I and post this correction. She was oh so sweet and professional to work with, and I believe she's really gotten her life together."

According to OKmagazine.com, Britney is a confirmed special guest for the 76th-annual Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting!

"Sources close to the pop superstar confirm to OK! that on Dec. 3, the day after she turns 27 and her new album, Circus, hits record stores, Britney will be in the Big Apple for the 76th annual tree-lighting extravaganza. What's still unclear is whether or not she'll be performing at the ceremony, or just hanging out with host Al Roker for the NBC broadcast of the event."

Britney is set to perform just one day before the lighting ceremony on December 2nd, the same day as her new album Circus launches, during ABC's Good Morning America show. "To check out the tree-lighting ceremony for yourself, tune into NBC on Dec. 3 at 8 p.m. ET."

Europe iTunes gets "Quicksand", UK iTunes doesn't even get "Amnesia"

European iTunes gets another bonus track! The song is titled "Quicksand," produced by Fernando Garibay ("Amnesia") and Lady Gaga. Meanwhile, the UK iTunes Deluxe release won't even get "Amnesia", despite the physical release containing it. UK FANS - BUY THE PHYSICAL ON DEC 1ST AND YOU'LL GET MORE BRITNEY! However, if you want to pre-order it on iTunes, you can now do so here for £9.99...

About Quicksand - "It came about quickly and in an unconventional way," Gaga reveals about writing "Quicksand" for Britney. "It's an amazing song but there's nothing like having a superstar singing your lyrics. Then it just so happened that she heard another song that I did with a different producer that she also gravitated towards and I don't even know if she knew that I wrote it. I was supposed to go in and produce her vocals but I couldn't do it because I was on tour, but I heard that she is dancing her pants off in the studio and so excited."

Big up Europe!

*NEW SINGLE* "Kill The Lights" - Instrumental

CIRCUS LEAK

BritneySpearsSpy has obtained an instrumental reported to be that of confirmed "Circus" track and future single "Kill The Lights". It certainly has a circus feel, with a heavy beat; we here at BritneySpearsSpy love it! As previously reported by us, the track is produced by Danja ("Gimme More", "Break The Ice", "Hot As Ice", "Get Back") and written by Jim Beanz and Candice Nelson of The Clutch.

5. Shattered Glass
6. If U Seek Amy
7. Unusual You
8. Blur
9. Mmm Papi

11. Lace and Leather
12. My Baby
Bonus Track:
13. Radar

Furthermore, "Circus" has been announced as the follow up single to "Womanizer" from the new album. It is expected to be released in the States in December to coincide with the album release.

Meanwhile, The Sun reports Britney Spears will play a gut-busting two-week stint at London’s O2 Arena next summer. The June gigs will see her throw her cowboy hat into the ring in one of the biggest months in British live music history. Oasis and Take That will be playing huge stadium gigs, Coldplay are planning to perform at Knebworth that month and U2 are also expected on the road. Britney will join Prince and the Spice Girls as acts who have had an O2 residency.
