Spears bans sons from K-Fed's new show

Britney Spears is set for legal action against her ex-husband Kevin Federline - to stop their children appearing on his new TV show.

Federline hopes to land a deal to document his day-to-day life with his two sons and his new girlfriend, Victoria Prince, for a new reality series.

But his pop star ex is refusing to give permission for Sean Preston, three, and two-year-old Jayden James to appear on the programme - and is considering launching a legal battle to limit filming.

Spears and Federline famously allowed TV cameras into their lives in 2005 for the MTV series Britney & Kevin: Chaotic.

Unusual You added to setlist?

According to a source close to the Circus tour team, “Unusual You” could be added to the setlist of the upcoming second leg of tour in North America.

Apparently, “Kill The Lights” would’ve made the cut but Ms Spears reportedly did not like the choreography.

All this remain in the rumor category. Stay tuned.

Dramatic shit going down in St. Petersburg

Apparently, the trip to St. Petersburg in Russia all-in-all was disastrous. Adam Leber is pretty upset about it, as well as dancers Luke Broadlick and Tiana Brown.

Mr Leber is not so happy with having to head back to Stockholm immediately after the show. We’re assuming this is because of the alleged death threats Ms Spears has been receiving. He posted the following on Twitter:

So pissed! Only got 6 hours in St Petersburg! Back to Stockholm after the show.”

Other dancers tweeted saying:

“That show was crazy.. So awkward.. Why does the crowd like hate us here well now heading to the 8 hour train ride to Moscow!”

- Luke Broadlick via Twitter.

“Wowowowow. We are on the jankiest train ever! Man! U’d think we would b treated well, but this is ridiculous. There’s no room for our luggage or anything. UGH. I hate being treated like crap. I work too hard for this. Makes me sad cause its not just me.”

-Tiana Brown via Twitter.

Let’s hope the real fans enjoyed their time. It’s good that Ms Spears didn’t actually cancel the show. That’s very considerate towards her fans.

Ciara LOVES Brit!

Ciara is taking some time off before hitting the road again with Britney Spears later this summer. She spoke with Rap-Up.com about touring with the superstar and what Britney told her backstage.

“I did a few days with her in the U.K. and that turned into us doing all these dates coming up, so I’m excited about it,” Ciara explained.

Britney even took time to come backstage and offer some encouraging words. “She’s a sweetheart. The first time she came by, she was like, ‘Hey Ciara! I just want you to know your show is great,’” she continued. “Backstage, it was really quiet, serene. It was just a cool vibe for women.”

The “Love Sex Magic” singer said the experience was empowering and taught her a lesson. “We need to support each other and have good, positive energy around each other. That’s what it was.”

The second U.S. leg of Britney’s Circus tour kicks off August 24 at Madison Square Garden. Read what else Ciara had to say about her tourmate in the Summer 2009 issue of Rap-Up, on sale now.

Conservationship to end?

Britney may soon be free from her conservatorship, according to TMZ.com.

"Jamie Spears will ask the court to review the terms of the conservatorship after her concert tour ends in November. Jamie can't ask the judge to end it -- just to review it. The judge then decides if Britney should regain control of her life."

Jamie feels Britney is ready to be on her own, says the site.

Will Britney appear at the 2009 VMAs?

Once again, MTV continues to tease us regarding the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

Like last year, we will receive a lot of rumors of Ms Spears’ possible appearance as the ceremony approaches. This would probably be the first rumor. MTV used a picture of Ms Spears’s 2001 famous VMA performance for “I’m A Slave 4 U” on a Facebook update that says: “Check out the official VMA’s site to stay current with more big announcements regarding performers, nominees, and presenters!”. The network also posted a message on its Twitter, saying:

“Should Britney perform at this year’s VMAs? Yes or No!”

BRITannica then went on to post an article about Brit and the VMAs over at Britney.com, accompanied by the VMA’s advertisement with Britney’s photo:

Remember last year when Britney took home THREE Moonmen at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards? Here’s hopin’ it happens again at this year’s 26th annual VMAs when it airs live from New York City on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 9pm ET. Russell Brand will be hosting again this year, though we won’t know who the presenters and nominees are for a few more weeks. All I gotta say is… there better be LOTS of Britney in the nominations! If you could single-handedly plan this year’s VMAs yourself, what would you like to see happen? Leave your ideas in the comments. Oh, and keep updated on the awards show by checking out the official MTV site. xx♥

UPDATED: New greatest hits album?

Rumours are flying around that Britney is set to release another Greatest Hits album in Autumn of this year.

Greatest Hits: My Prerogative hit stores 2004.

Britney and her manager have already confirmed that they have been in the studio with legendary producer Max Martin whilst in Sweden. It is suspected this Greatest Hits will allow Britney time to spend with her family while recording more music for her seventh studio album.

Gimmebritney.com is reporting:
  • The working title of the album is “The Singles Collection“. We’re led to believe that this may not be the final title.
  • Sony Music have now officially added the release to SKU systems in Australia with a RRP of $29.95
  • The release will be a double disc collection of her hits from the past 10 years
  • "The Singles Collection" will contain more of Blackout and Circus tracks, than any of her previous albums. We’re assuming that the first disc will be focused solely on anything released before Blackout.
  • There WILL be new tracks on the album. We’re not hearing the 6 new tracks as we previously heard, however we are being told that a single will be released from it – Radar is not getting released locally.
  • The date is tentative on the SKU system of October 23rd 2009 – and will be released in Australia to coincide with her Australian leg of the Circus tour. We’re also guessing the new single will be released at this time as well.

Radar video director speaks to MTV

Britney Spears Shows 'Classy Side' In 'Radar' Video, Director Says'Videos are a chance for her to vocalize a sense of herself,' Dave Meyers tells MTV News.
By Jocelyn Vena

For Britney Spears' "Radar" video, the pop star ditched the writhing dance moves to explore what the video's director calls "the romance of high-end society and the guys that circulate around there."

The video, inspired in part by Madonna's 1994 "Take a Bow" video, was directed by Britney's longtime video collaborator Dave Meyers, who worked with Britney on her videos for "Lucky" and "Boys" as well as the commercial for her Curious fragrance. The new video centers on Britney being torn between two love interests: a rich guy and a polo player. (Spoiler alert: She picks the polo player.)

"She was in a really good headspace and open to trying new things, and I wanted to try some new things with her too," Meyers told MTV News. "It kind of was a great celebration of trusting one another. ... Now we're sort of both seasoned in our own rights, so it's like two people coming back together, trying to do something fresh and new ... seeking out an actual different technique and stylistic choices and trying to find a form to celebrate them in."

Meyers said when he met up with Spears in May in Santa Barbara, California, he had a specific vision: to show the world Britney's "classy side," instead of the images of a sexed-up Spears that we're all used to seeing. It's the kind of Britney we saw in her video for "Lucky," except more grown-up.

"I thought, 'It's not the first single [from Circus]. Let's be a little experimental and push to not have her around dancers,' " Meyers said. "I feel, I guess, that the videos are a chance for her to vocalize a sense of herself. The media tends to attack her, so I thought, 'Let's show the classy side of Britney and focus on a classy experience, very European-inspired.' And she's at the point in her career where I think this would be a nice step."

Meyers thinks Britney's career mirrors Madonna's career in some ways. Much like with Madonna, when Britney does something, "Everyone seems to watch."

"She kind of filled [Madonna's] shoes," Meyers said. "[But] everything is done in a Britney way. She's not Madonna, and Madonna is not Britney. It seems like Madonna made the same choices that were right for her at the time, to class her up when she had just done a sexpot video. She was riding that image train too. She was leading that image train, and I think that Britney has done that as well."

Polish concert cancelled

Apparently, the Polish leg of Britney's Circus tour has had to be cancelled; some are saying due to poor ticket sales, others due to a contractual dispute

From Britneyspears.com

"POLISH PROMOTER CANCELS WARSAW PERFORMANCE OF THE CIRCUS STARRING BRITNEY SPEARS

Los Angeles, CA - The Circus Starring Britney Spears will not be touring Warsaw, Poland during the 63-city world tour. To Britney's great dismay, the performance scheduled to take place in Warsaw, Poland on Friday, July 24th has been canceled by the Polish promoter due to a contractual dispute that was unable to be resolved. Britney regrets that she will not be visiting Poland's capital during her world tour. She apologizes to all her loyal fans for the cancellation and hopes to visit the culturally exciting city of Warsaw in the near future.

"The Circus Starring Britney Spears" kicked-off in New Orleans, LA on March 3, "The pop star...pulled out all the stops before a sell-out crowd of 16,400 to launch her much anticipated world tour," stated Reuters. To date, the Circus is the highest grossing tour of 2009 in North America.

Britney has more US Top 40 radio hits this decade than ANYONE else!

According to Billboard.com

Billboard just confirmed, “Radar” will be her 21st entry + they gave an update on her album sales in the U.S.

Should Britney Spears’ “Radar” debut on the Mainstream Top 40 radio airplay chart next week *it’s #37 on MB*, which looks likely based on the format’s building chart, Spears will take sole ownership of most entries on the tally this decade. She’s currently tied with Nelly, each with 20 charted titles in that span. Here is a look at the hefty sales figures of Spears’ charted albums on the Billboard 200, according to Nielsen SoundScan:

10,534,000, “…Baby One More Time,” 1999 (No. 1, six weeks)
9,184,000, “Oops!…I Did It Again,” 2000 (No. 1, one week)
4,336,000, “Britney,” 2001 (No. 1, one week)
2,970,000, “In the Zone,” 2003 (No. 1, one week)

1,347,000, “Greatest Hits: My Prerogative,” 2004 (No. 4)
967,000, “Blackout,” 2007 (No. 2)

Britney collapses during rehearsel

From DigitalSpy

Britney Spears suddenly collapsed to the floor during a recent rehearsal, sources have claimed. The 'Toxic' singer, who is currently on the European leg of her 'Circus' tour, was apparently practising moves for her new songs when she lost consciousness and fell to the ground.

An insider told the National Enquirer: "She collapsed when the dancers went to put her back on her feet. She fell to the floor and landed on one of the dancer's legs."

The 27-year-old star apparently mildly injured herself in the fall. The source said: "The dancer's tennis shoe smacked Britney in the chest and on the face. It hit her chest with such a force that it caused a four-inch bruise."

Low blood sugar levels have been blamed for the singer's collapse. The source also said that the star's busy life contributed, saying: "Her schedule has wreaked havoc on her body."

Forbes magazine recently announced that Spears ranks third in the highest-paid celebrity list. She has reportedly earned $35 million (£22 million) in the past year.

Hope she's ok! :(

Swedish Press boycott Circus over censorship argument

Thanks to Breatheheavy:

A prominent portion of the Swedish press have plans to boycott Britney's upcoming "Circus" show in Stockholm, Sweden, according to new reports.

Jamie Spears' camp demands photographers at the show sign a contract that gives them the copyright to the pictures, allowing the option to sell the photos as well as choose what ones are published.

"'If we don’t sign the contract we are not allowed to take photos,' says Dagens Nyheters’ head of photography, Roger Turesson (DN is the biggest newspaper in Sweden)."

According to the source, the contract vendors must sign is "very detailed."
quote:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- "No pictures from the concert can be published after 30 days.
- No pictures can be sold forward, that pictures that the organizer sees as offensive to the artist can not be published.
- And that Spears gets the ownership to the pictures that they like."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"The demands from concert organizers grow all the time. Before we agreed not to sell the pictures forward to posters and the like but this we cannot accept, Turesson says."

Two large tabloids in Stockholm, Expressen and Aftonbladet, are boycotting coverage of the concert as well.

"Picture agencies are not overall welcome to the concert as they would sell the pictures forward."

"Overall we should boycott the concert as a whole, and not write about the concert at all. That’s what they did in Germany and the contract was quickly waived, said Mans Brunius of picture agency Scanpix."

"It has happened before that the organizer has waived the contract in Sweden. It is possible that there is a solution but it depends on them, says Roger Turesson."

AEG Live, Britney's concert organizer, claim they only forward the contract given from Britney's management, as "they own the right."

"I think it’s just as sad every time that I have to send out one of these contracts. I’m doing everything I can to get rid of them, says Louise Vanerell, the publicist for AEG Live."

Michael Jackson to Britney: Get out of showbiz!

Michael Jackson urged Britney to leave the music business and focus on her family, according to new reports.

Jackson, who warned Britney not to "end up" like him, reportedly warned Britney to retire from the industry.

A friend of Britney's said: "Michael told her, 'Don't end up like me.' His warning was eerie, like he was trying to tell Britney he was going to die."

The source added to Britain's Look magazine: "I think Michael's warning sent shivers down Britney's spine. He was emphatic in warning her she should leave showbusiness in order to maintain her sanity."

"He thought she should retire after the 'Circus' tour so she could focus on the things that mattered - her sons and family. Britney must have taken Michael's words to heart as she promised him she would at least take a long break after she finished the tour."
