Ciara LOVES Brit!

Ciara is taking some time off before hitting the road again with Britney Spears later this summer. She spoke with Rap-Up.com about touring with the superstar and what Britney told her backstage.

“I did a few days with her in the U.K. and that turned into us doing all these dates coming up, so I’m excited about it,” Ciara explained.

Britney even took time to come backstage and offer some encouraging words. “She’s a sweetheart. The first time she came by, she was like, ‘Hey Ciara! I just want you to know your show is great,’” she continued. “Backstage, it was really quiet, serene. It was just a cool vibe for women.”

The “Love Sex Magic” singer said the experience was empowering and taught her a lesson. “We need to support each other and have good, positive energy around each other. That’s what it was.”

The second U.S. leg of Britney’s Circus tour kicks off August 24 at Madison Square Garden. Read what else Ciara had to say about her tourmate in the Summer 2009 issue of Rap-Up, on sale now.

The Circus heads North!

Despite numerous rumours of a new song, and statements from dancers and Britney herself that a new number was being rehearsed in London, no new songs were added to the final performance at the O2 Arena in London last night.

The Circus moves to Manchester for one night before heading to Ireland. London loved you Britney!

Circus Tour: Final London Performance

Tonight, Britney performs her final show of The Circus Starring: Britney Spears at the O2 Arena in London before heading for a one-off performance up north in Manchester.

Speculation is rife that there are set to be some changes, sourcing from hints from the Princess of Pop herself that there is to be a new song to outrageous rumours Michael Jackson is set to appear!

*RUMOURS* Huge surprise for last show?

THIS IS A RUMOUR AND IS BY NO MEANS CONFIRMED IN ANY WAY!

Bearing in mind the announcement that there would be a surprise at the last show was a fake account, this needs to be taken with caution, but a anonomous twitter source is reporting Britney is set to reunite with none other than Michael Jackson!:

Britney's vimeo page is reporting to "Expect a surprise during the eighth show at the O2 in London."

It also states the ""Radar" music video is coming out in the second half of June" and that "We can confirm the leaked pics from the Gimme More music video are a little bit fake. ~ Britney team"

Jamie Spears bans alcohol at tour

VIP guests at BRITNEY SPEARS' O2 gig were left fuming, and parched, after the troubled star's dad banned alcohol in any area that she may pass through. Instead of the usual glasses of chilled bubbly, Access All Areas ticket holders are being handed bottles of WATER behind the scenes in a bid to keep the troubled star away from booze while on tour.

Britney's family have issued the blanket ban on any areas that the star might pass through on her way from dressing room to stage - and staff have been asked to sign contracts promising that no booze will be available. A source at the venue says: "Following her problems with alcohol, Britney [or rather, her father who maintains control of all her affairs and makes hundreds of thousands of dollars off his daughter every year] had requested that everywhere backstage is alcohol free.

"Her family is monitoring the situation very carefully and we've been made to sign contracts promising not to drink or allow any of the VIP guests to have alcohol in any of the backstage areas that Britney could use. "It is very important to Britney that she doesn't see anybody drinking in her presence." A gig goer, who purchased the AAA ticket, told The Sun: "Although I respect Britney's wishes, I was desperate for a drink myself. It certainly put a dampener on the night."

A source said: "Britney went to Maddox nightclub after her O2 gig on Saturday night and left just before 12.30am. "It seemed odd that she wanted to be surrounded by people drinking considering her father had imposed such strict restrictions while on tour.

Jamie's controlling ways will almost certainly come back to bite him soon. The irony is, as The Mirror reports:

He says: "One time Jamie was drunk and tried to drive off with Britney in the car. She was no more than five years old. "I tried to stop him, so I reached into the truck to grab the keys from the ignition and he punched me. We got right into it there by the car, fighting in front of her. "Britney was jumping up and down, crying. Lynne had to run out to get her inside... "Another time I was at the house and Jamie walked in drunk and called Lynne a bad name. She was in the kitchen drinking water and he grabbed the glass, walked into the lounge and just hurled it. It was rough, but the sad thing is that it became normal life."

Saw Britney Last Night

Wow.

I mean I don't have the words to describe just how utterly incredible Britney's Circus tour is. I know, I know, it's hardly surprising that I'm going to say this, but I have been to a fair few concerts and festivals and I can honestly say without a doubt The Circus Starring: Britney Spears is the most fantastic thing I have ever seen in my life!

Not only that, but Ciara was simply amazing too; her energy is, just, incredible!

Spears "desperate" to meet the Queen

Britney Spears is reportedly eager to meet the Queen while she is in the UK on tour.

The 'Womanizer' singer, who kicked off an eight-date residency at London's O2 arena earlier this week, is thought to have expressed an interest in visiting Buckingham Palace while she is in the capital. "Britney’s schedule has been crazy from the minute she hit our shores. But no way does she want to leave without visiting the Queen," an insider told The Mirror.

"She has told her aides she is desperate for her sons to rub shoulders with royalty. And she does not want to be disappointed. "Britney loves everything the Royal Family stands for, so this would make a dream come true."

This is not the first time that the 27-year-old has been connected to the monarchy. During an appearance on The Frank Skinner Show in 2002, she admitted to exchanging emails with Prince William.

Britney's Circus gets the thumbs up

Britney Spears staged her UK comeback last night with her first gig here in five years.

But if anyone was looking for signs of last year's meltdown to surface they would have left London's O2 a bit disappointed. She's been busy toning up, learning circus tricks and by the sounds of it practising her lip-synching a bit too.

Britney fans Janine and Natalie, 22 and 23 from Ruislip, shared their excitement with Newsbeat as the lights went down. "Goosebumpy excited!" they laughed. "It's like a life event!" said Janine. Natalie added: "I've never been to a gig before and i can't even explain how excited I am. I'll probably cry when she comes out! In fact I'm so excited i could cry now!"

Britney arrives in London

Britney has reportedly arrived in London ahead of the start of her mini-residence at London's o2 Arena for the European leg of her Circus tour, the first UK gig for 5 years.

Meanwhile The Sun is reporting:

"BRITNEY SPEARS is plotting the filthiest aftershow party to hit these shores for decades...her gig flesh-flashing will be blown out of the water by the nearby indigO2 venue's club night after each show. "Club Dada starts when Britney leaves the O2 stage and will feature naked acrobats, topless burlesque babes and dancing dwarves."

To be taken with a pinch of salt methinks.

NEW Song for London Circus tour?

George Jones Jr. (one of Britney's backup dancers) has led speculation a new song will be added to the set list for Britney's tour dates in London. He posted on his twitter:

"Back in the gym. Then a rehearsal new music new song for London. Here we go!"

Does this mean a NEW new song? Or just one of her current songs is going to be added? This comes after a post by Adam Leber (Britney's manager) a few weeks back:

"Should be getting some dope remixes for the show today. Brits going to rework and choreograph a few numbers for Europe. Hurry up Simon!!!9:32 AM May 9th from web"
